Review Submitted: December 20, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2010. Our family of 6 has rented the Casa Vista Magnifica in Flamingo Costa Rica two years in a row. This property is spacious, has scenery only surpassed by a post card and is located close enough to many fun destinations that include the most beautiful beaches we have ever visited.
Rosita and Bismark will make sure you have everything you need at the house from meals, to laundry service and including local recommendations for lunch and dinner that only a full time CR resident would know about. Britta Engelhardt and Erika Dent of Tropical Homes of Costa Rica will provide pain free arrangement from the reservation, to check in & out, and to include any activity you choose during your stay.
If you are considering or planning a trip to the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, I strongly encourage you to check out Casa Vista Magnifica in Flamingo. It\’s a dream vacation come true.

Hi Britta, Thanks so much for the wonderful stay at Villa Las Palmas from July 11-25 2010. We could not have been happier with the accommodations or the services. Lilliana and her family were very gracious; always willing to help us in any capacity which they could.
They kept the house in impeccable condition the entire duration of our stay. The house itself exceeded our expectations in every way. The architecture was stunning and spacious inside and out and the gardens were a delight to take in while enjoying the deck or pool.
We were fortunate enough to see monkeys in the mango trees on the property, several species of interesting looking birds, and some bats at night.
The beach access was a bit steep– we had some older people with us that would have benefitted from a railing of some sort, but other than that the place was absolutely perfect. In addition, the property managers were extremely helpful both before and during our stay, making sure that we had information on recreational activities in the area as well as all the information we needed to enjoy the house amenities.
We will without a doubt visit again if we have the opportunity to return to Costa Rica.

I wanted to thank you and Tropical Homes for an excellent vacation stay at the Penthouse Condo. The accommodations were wonderful, house keeping services superb, and the grounds keeper/security/maintenance people were all top notch.

Casa Vista Magnifica, February 2009, March 13, 2009
Recently, my friends and family members stayed at Casa Vista Magnifica in Playa Potrero. Other family members have rented this particular house in the past and it came highly recommended. The house and location are beautiful and off the beaten path.
The on-site caretakers are wonderful. It is well worth hiring Rosita to cook \”comida tipica\” for you and enjoy the stress free environment to its fullest. The rental process was direct and easy with Britta from Tropical Homes of Costa Rica, Ltda. This was one of the better vacations I have had in a long time. You can\’t beat the house, the location, and the weather.

Casa El Paraiso, February 23, 2009
Britta, I want to thank you for a wonderful time in Potrero, Costa Rica!!! This was the sixth time that we have rented from you in as many years. Casa El Paraiso was everything that your description said it was. The villa, pool, and grounds were absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more. We continue to appreciate the hard work you and your staff put forth to make sure that all of the details, even the smallest ones, are worked out in advance. The time you personally took to assist me during my family emergency is appreciated more than I express. I look forward to seeing you again next year and many years to come.
Thank you again, Phill. St. Paul, Minnesota Phill Gill

Dear Tom and Chris,
Just thought I\’d write you a note on our last full day here. How can Iput into words the wonderful time we have had? We didn\’t know what toexpect when we got here because it was dark. Our oldest son, Brandon, got up early last Sunday and came running back to all the bedroomstelling us we had to get up to see the view. That was just thebeginning. Each day has been a wonder to all of us. The morningsare gorgeous and the sunsets are indescribable. We have taken so manypictures of everything, but we all know a picture doesn\’t do it justice.
The first week we pretty much got familiar with the area by checking out thevarious beaches and navigating the bumpy roads, which we enjoyed. Daryl, Jordan, Andy, Brianna, Jordan, Brett and Justin all went out on thesailboat snorkeling a few days after we got here. They enjoyed theexperience and thought the crew on the boat was superb. They devoured thefruit and the guacamole and came back to me bragging about what a good day theyhad. I, along with Anna, stayed with the little ones and played in thepool.
On Monday of this week, Jordan, Brett, Brandon, Andy and Brianna took off forSan Jose and spent the night there. On Tuesday they went to Arenal toexperience a volcano and the zip lines. They took lots of videos andpictures on that trip. They also bought a DVD of the zip line tour.
We have been trying some of the restaurants. Mostly we have been walkingto El Castio for their fruit drinks and chicken nachos in the afternoon. We have been to Las Brisas several times and have enjoyed the sunset from thatbeach. The kids walked up and back to that one, but we drove when we tookthe kids. Tonight we are going to go to Mar y Sol to eat and watch thesunset.
We have gone into Tamarindo several time, the kids to the beach, and also toshop in the little shops. Some of us bought some leather items in thestore that sells the sea snake, sting ray, etc. I bought a watch with thesting ray band. The workmanship is beautiful and what a conversationpiece that will be. We have also bought some of the jewelry made from theshells and a couple of them bought shark tooth necklaces.
We love the remote feeling of the area and that fact that it isn\’t socommercialized that you can\’t turn around without bumping into people. Some of us have been to Hawaii and found it beautiful, but you can see thatkind of city in a lot of places. This was an experience that none of ushave had before.
Yesterday, Jordan, Brett and myself took the Monkey Trail up to do the CanopyTour. That was awesome. We had a blast. We all hungup-side-down on one of the lines and also did the superman position. Whata rush! After that we went in the monkey cage and had a blast withthe monkeys jumping on our shoulders and nibbling on our ears. Jordan and Brett had monkeys crawling down their backs under theirshirts. We all laughed so hard that we cried. We took lots ofpictures. When I get home I will send a few of our highlights. While on that tour we were with 4 other people and one of the men, if he wasn\’tDennis Quaid, he was a dead ringer. His wife was a beautiful blond. I asked her if her husband was him, but all she would say to me was the shethought he looked like him, too. That left us wondering.
Our little grandson, Chase, has had a ball with all his uncles and aunt. We think he has had the best time of all. They have had him laughing sohard and he them. He has seen the little lizards on the balcony, theiguanas in the lots next to us, birds, dogs and Howler monkeys at ElCastio. His excitement at all these new experiences is priceless. The baby, Livea, is only two months old, but she has been the center ofattention, too.
So, as you can see, we have had an experience that we will carry with us forthe rest of our lives. We hope that we can come back some day. Ithink we all hardily agreed that is something we would like to do.
Thanks so much for the use of your beautiful penthouse. Now we getto go back to temperatures of near zero. They have been subzero formost of the week. What a shock that will be to our systems.
Best regards to all,

Thanks to Britta at Tropical Homes we had a great visit to Costa Rica. The condo we stayed in was lovely–clean, comfortable, and with a greatview of the water. It cost less forthree of us to stay there than it cost my father to stay in a hotel that wasnot nearly as nice. Our condo allowed us access to the Flamingo Beach Hotel, which was a great bonus.
But the greatest benefit to staying in one of Britta\’sTropical Homes was her assistance, above and beyond what was required. She helped us find tours, recommended restaurants, answered practical questions, and, when I lost the condo key while swimming inthe ocean, she came immediately, picked us up and let us into the condo. I recommend Tropical Homes as highly as possible.
Our vacation, December 28, 2008 Dear Britta and Lilian,
Dear Britta and Lilian,
Thank you so much for your help during our problems in Costa Rica. I don´t know how we could have survived without the assistance of Lilian. Especially the trip to San Jose was crucial in making our decision whether to have surgery or not. We did arrive in the US on 4 February and proceeded to look for doctors to evaluate my options…. I have put this unfortunate incident behind me and both Paula and I look forward to our next vacation with you.
Again, thank you for all your help.
You will always be in our thoughts and hears.
Paula and Gino
Casa Vista Magnifica, June 2008, December 28, 2008
Your house is spectacular! We loved it and have never seen a more beautiful view. Your directions were perfect. Britta had some luggage moved to her truck so we could load up on groceries while we were there. She also called one day to see if everything was ok, which, of course, it was. Rosita and Bismarck were wonderful. She cooked for us a lot, and we had our best meals there. We left them a generous tip, we hope, and they were worth every penny of it.
The roads were a real challenge. Thanks for the advice about the vehicles. The tropical storm had washed the roads a lot. The guys loved the fishing, caught quite a few Dorado.
Thanks again for your generous donation for Arkansas Children´s Hospital.
Best to you and your family,

Just wanted to let you know we made it back safe and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Your penthouse was beautiful and in a great location. We really appreciate you having all the amenities for a great experience. Little things like beach chairs and a cooler were great to have for exploring the many beaches.
We spent our last day at the Hacienda Guachipelin and had wild time. We got the all day adventure pass, and I think we ran out of adrenaline. If you get a chance the Canyon trip, (rappelling through waterfalls), and their Canopy trip is well worth it. Since they run their zip lines through the river canyon, it\’s much different than the Congo Trail.
This was truly a memorable family vacation and I will recommend your Penthouse to friends that are thinking of CR for a vacation.
