Tamarindo is expected to get pretty crazy for the Costa Rica holidays 2022. This means there will be a lot of people in and out of town all day long, and even though Tamarindo is a small chill surf town, traffic gets pretty heavy this time of year. So it is important to plan ahead when you want to leave town. You should plan to give yourself an extra 30 minutes to get to where you want to go during the December & January months. If you plan ahead and expect the traffic you should be just fine. Another big question people have is, is Costa Rica safe? The answer is yes, but don’t be careless. Violence is pretty unheard of around here especially in Tamarindo, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things to be aware of like petty theft. Odds are just like most other places in the world, if you leave items unattended there is a chance they will be snatched. A little bit of common sense will get you through your vacation in Costa Rica just fine with no problems.
Pro Mom Tip: Given that Costa Rica is so chill, and gets so busy around this time of the year, the turnaround time for food when eating out can get a little long. We all know that hungry kids waiting for their food doesn’t always make for the most relaxing setting. So plan ahead and eat a little snack if you are feeling extra hungry before dinner. All you have to do is walk around Tamarindo and pick your spot. Once the clock strikes 12 the sky lights up with fireworks from every direction, and the best place to watch is obviously on the beach with your feet in the sand. So give yourself time before midnight to make your way to the beach and set up camp to enjoy the amazing fireworks Tamarindo has to offer.
