Villa de Oro
The villa is lovely and well appointed. Views are amazing from all spots in the house (especially master balcony). Tranquil neighborhood with tons of privacy yet close enough to town. Reservation process and check-in a breeze. Miguel the caretaker and his wife Maria did a great job insuring our comfort. We would highly recommend renting this beautiful home when you plan on visiting the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.

Pacific Beach Condo #10
“Wow !! We stayed for 3 nights in this condo. Having known, we would have stayed longer. Was our most beautiful accommodation during our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. Very clean. There was nothing lacking. I can not find anything negative to say. View !!! Unbelievable !!! Very good quality Wi-Fi. Close to air-conditioned grocery store and restaurants. Lots of beach nearby including the most beautiful (in my opinion): Playa Conchal I would stay well all winter;) ”

Casa Cielo Mar
Our vacation is ending soon, but for a long time our hearts will be full of the wonders we saw each day in your beautiful country!
We would like to point out how much we were satisfied with Antonio and his lovely wife Sylvia who takes care of the house and the guests as if it was theirs. They are polite, discreet, honest and positive people, and it will be a pleasure to see them again next year.
I also want to thank you dear Rita for the extraordinary service that you provide, and also all the people of Tropical Homes who were so kind and helpful. You are a great team and you can be proud of it !
Casa Cielo Mar is an oasis of peace and beauty and we are already happy to come back,

Pacific Beach Condominium #12
***** FIVE STARS *****
I cannot tell you how much my family and I enjoyed our recent vacation in Playa Portrero, Costa Rica. Our accommodations at the Pacific Beach Condominiums were, simply put, perfect.
We have traveled to many beautiful and tropical locations, have stayed at all-inclusive resorts as well as rented condos and luxury villas. None provided the amazing, local immersion as our visit to Costa Rica, and none provided a backdrop as beautiful and relaxing.
Our conversations with Rita and Roxana were highly informative and professional as we planned out our stay. I’m sure I was a bit of a high-maintenance client working to design the perfect vacation for our family, which included two young, energetic boys (seven and five years old). Rita quickly sought to understand what our family was looking for in a vacation and helped encourage us to stay at the Pacific Beach condos instead of another property that may not have been as well suited for our family. Roxana took the worry out of the up-front planning and set us up with two amazing tours during our stay. We ziplined at Congo Trail and took a 3+ hour private ATV excursion visiting all of the nearby beaches. Both experiences can only be described as amazing.
Upon our arrival to the condo, Jesus, the property manager, greeted us and even made a quick run to the grocery store for us as we were waiting for our rental car to be delivered. He made himself available to us for anything we needed during our stay and promptly answered my phone calls when we had questions.
The proximity of the condo to Portrero beach was perfect. The pool and condo grounds were well kept and helped make the trip very memorable. We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave after our week.
The food in Playa Portrero and neighboring towns was one of the true highlights. Some of the best food we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The fresh fish and seafood was to die for.
Without a doubt, we hope to make many return trips to this area. I would highly recommend Tropical Homes of Costa Rica for anyone looking to experience this amazing country.
Dear Britta and Rita
I just wanted to let you both know that my family had a wonderful time at Villa Oasis. The house was beautiful and we had everything we needed and more. Most of all, Miguel and Maria were so kind, friendly and helpful. I was really impressed with them both. Bladimir was also very helpful and attentive every time I needed to call with a question. Thank you so much for making my family’s trip to Costa Rica so special. We look forward to renting from Tropical Homes again in the future!
Casa Vista Magnifica
Eric – we just got back from our trip to Costa Rica. Have to tell you how much we enjoyed Vista Magnifica! The home’s view is breathtaking. Love the outdoor living and dining they make for such an enjoyable gathering place. The pool was just heaven to relax and enjoy the view. A confession – we really wanted to kidnap your on-site help. Rosita’s cooking and backrubs are worth twice the price. Bismark was so helpful. They were awesome. Tropical Homes was very helpful when we made our travel arrangements and all the sightseeing. We all commented on how truly lovely the Costa Rican people are. Pura Vida! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Heaven on Earth!!
From start to finish, our experience in Costa Rica was among one of the most amazing life to date. This home is located in beautiful Playa Flamindo and has EVERYTHING you need and more. The management/concierge staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a once in a lifetime luxury experience; from private chef, maid service, tours, etc. they have you covered. With this amazing set-up and resort like home you really don’t even need to leave the house to have an amazing time. Having stayed in luxury homes themselves, I can honestly say this experience/stay takes the care!! We are ready to plan our next trip back to paradise, and cannot wait to visit CR again! Thank you again (owners & tropical homes) for making this one of the most enjoyable retreats and vacations!
El Destino Penthouse,
Just wanted to let you know we made it back safe and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Your penthouse was beautiful and in a great location. We really appreciate you having all the amenities for a great experience. Little things like beach chairs and a cooler were great to have for exploring the many beaches.
We spent our last day at the Hacienda Guachipelin and had wild time. We got the all day adventure pass, and I think we ran out of adrenaline. If you get a chance the Canyon trip, (rappelling through waterfalls), and their Canopy trip is well worth it. Since they run their zip lines through the river canyon, it’s much different than the Congo Trail.
This was truly a memorable family vacation and I will recommend your Penthouse to friends that are thinking of CR for a vacation.
Casa Vista Magnifica
Your house is spectacular! We loved it and have never seen a more beautiful view. Your directions were perfect. Britta had some luggage moved to her truck so we could load up on groceries while we were there. She also called one day to see if everything was ok, which, of course, it was. Rosita and Bismarck were wonderful. She cooked for us a lot, and we had our best meals there. We left them a generous tip, we hope, and they were worth every penny of it.
The roads were a real challenge. Thanks for the advice about the vehicles. The tropical storm had washed the roads a lot. The guys loved the fishing, caught quite a few Dorado.
Thanks again for your generous donation for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Best to you and your family,
Dear Britta and Lilian,
Thank you so much for your help during our problems in Costa Rica. I don’t know how we could have survived without the assistance of Lilian. Especially the trip to San Jose was crucial in making our decision whether to have surgery or not. We did arrive in the US on 4 February and proceeded to look for doctors to evaluate my options…. I have put this unfortunate incident behind me and both Paula and I look forward to our next vacation with you.
Again, thank you for all your help.
You will always be in our thoughts and hears.

Thanks to Britta at Tropical Homes we had a great visit to Costa Rica. The condo we stayed in was lovely–clean, comfortable, and with a greatview of the water. It cost less forthree of us to stay there than it cost my father to stay in a hotel that wasnot nearly as nice. Our condo allowed us access to the Flamingo Beach Hotel, which was a great bonus.
But the greatest benefit to staying in one of Britta’sTropical Homes was her assistance, above and beyond what was required. She helped us find tours, recommended restaurants, answered practical questions, and, when I lost the condo key while swimming inthe ocean, she came immediately, picked us up and let us into the condo. I recommend Tropical Homes as highly as possible.
El Destino Penthouse
Dear Tom and Chris,
Just thought I’d write you a note on our last full day here. How can Iput into words the wonderful time we have had? We didn’t know what toexpect when we got here because it was dark. Our oldest son, Brandon, got up early last Sunday and came running back to all the bedroomstelling us we had to get up to see the view. That was just thebeginning. Each day has been a wonder to all of us. The morningsare gorgeous and the sunsets are indescribable. We have taken so manypictures of everything, but we all know a picture doesn’t do it justice.
The first week we pretty much got familiar with the area by checking out thevarious beaches and navigating the bumpy roads, which we enjoyed. Daryl, Jordan, Andy, Brianna, Jordan, Brett and Justin all went out on thesailboat snorkeling a few days after we got here. They enjoyed theexperience and thought the crew on the boat was superb. They devoured thefruit and the guacamole and came back to me bragging about what a good day theyhad. I, along with Anna, stayed with the little ones and played in thepool.
On Monday of this week, Jordan, Brett, Brandon, Andy and Brianna took off forSan Jose and spent the night there. On Tuesday they went to Arenal toexperience a volcano and the zip lines. They took lots of videos andpictures on that trip. They also bought a DVD of the zip line tour.
We have been trying some of the restaurants. Mostly we have been walkingto El Castio for their fruit drinks and chicken nachos in the afternoon. We have been to Las Brisas several times and have enjoyed the sunset from thatbeach. The kids walked up and back to that one, but we drove when we tookthe kids. Tonight we are going to go to Mar y Sol to eat and watch thesunset.
We have gone into Tamarindo several time, the kids to the beach, and also toshop in the little shops. Some of us bought some leather items in thestore that sells the sea snake, sting ray, etc. I bought a watch with thesting ray band. The workmanship is beautiful and what a conversationpiece that will be. We have also bought some of the jewelry made from theshells and a couple of them bought shark tooth necklaces.
We love the remote feeling of the area and that fact that it isn’t socommercialized that you can’t turn around without bumping into people. Some of us have been to Hawaii and found it beautiful, but you can see thatkind of city in a lot of places. This was an experience that none of ushave had before.
Yesterday, Jordan, Brett and myself took the Monkey Trail up to do the CanopyTour. That was awesome. We had a blast. We all hungup-side-down on one of the lines and also did the superman position. Whata rush! After that we went in the monkey cage and had a blast withthe monkeys jumping on our shoulders and nibbling on our ears. Jordan and Brett had monkeys crawling down their backs under theirshirts. We all laughed so hard that we cried. We took lots ofpictures. When I get home I will send a few of our highlights. While on that tour we were with 4 other people and one of the men, if he wasn’tDennis Quaid, he was a dead ringer. His wife was a beautiful blond. I asked her if her husband was him, but all she would say to me was the shethought he looked like him, too. That left us wondering.
Our little grandson, Chase, has had a ball with all his uncles and aunt. We think he has had the best time of all. They have had him laughing sohard and he them. He has seen the little lizards on the balcony, theiguanas in the lots next to us, birds, dogs and Howler monkeys at ElCastio. His excitement at all these new experiences is priceless. The baby, Livea, is only two months old, but she has been the center ofattention, too.
So, as you can see, we have had an experience that we will carry with us forthe rest of our lives. We hope that we can come back some day. Ithink we all hardily agreed that is something we would like to do.
Thanks so much for the use of your beautiful penthouse. Now we getto go back to temperatures of near zero. They have been subzero formost of the week. What a shock that will be to our systems.
Best regards to all,
Casa Los Monos
what a perfect time we had at Casa Los Monos! A beautiful home indeed. The staff was so helpful, and so kind. We felt so at home andcomfortable!
Zeida, Suni and Dubalier were all fabulous! They couldn’t have been morethoughtful and kind to all of us. Even when we freaked out about the mono. Which turned out to be a blessing, we really enjoyed our Mono!
Hey we wanted to send Sergio a special Thank You, and also a couple of Spanish-English books and CD’s to help him on his English skills. Can you let me know what address is appropriate? Casa monos? Or Tropical Homes office?
Thanks again Lilian for a perfect stay. Please Thank Miguel also for us. He’s an excellent cook! We are looking forward to our next vacation inCosta Rica!
Thanks Lilian. You’ve been the most responsive and customer service person I’ve worked with, and I so appreciate it!

Casa El Paraiso
Britta, I want to thank you for a wonderful time in Potrero, Costa Rica!!! This was the sixth time that we have rented from you in as many years. Casa El Paraiso was everything that your description said it was. The villa, pool, and grounds were absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more. We continue to appreciate the hard work you and your staff put forth to make sure that all of the details, even the smallest ones, are worked out in advance. The time you personally took to assist me during my family emergency is appreciated more than I express. I look forward to seeing you again next year and many years to come.
Thank you again, Phill. St. Paul, Minnesota Phill Gill
