Tamarindo is expected to get pretty crazy for the Costa Rica holidays 2022. This means there will be a lot of people in and out of town all day long, and even though Tamarindo is a small chill surf town, traffic gets pretty heavy this time of year. So it is important to plan ahead when you want to leave town. You should plan to give yourself an extra 30 minutes to get to where you want to go during the December & January months. If you plan ahead and expect the traffic you should be just fine. Another big question people have is, is Costa Rica safe? The answer is yes, but don’t be careless. Violence is pretty unheard of around here especially in Tamarindo, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things to be aware of like petty theft. Odds are just like most other places in the world, if you leave items unattended there is a chance they will be snatched.
