The Weather

One of the best things about living in Costa Rica is the weather. With an average temperature of around 26 degrees Celsius year-round, it is always perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Whether you are swimming in the ocean, hiking through the jungle, or just relaxing on the beach, you can count on beautiful skies. If you’re wondering when to travel to Costa Rica, between the months of December and April, there is almost no rainfall, which means it’s the perfect time to escape the bitter winters and enjoy some tropical sunshine. Costa Rica isn’t always all sunshine, but that definitely is not a bad thing. From the months of May to November it is the rainy season, also known as the green season in Costa Rica. During this time you can expect it to rain just about every day, but it is typically just for a short period of time. Sometimes during this time of year it will only rain for as little as 15 minutes a day, leaving the rest of the day to be nice and sunny. For Costa Rica the rainy season is very important, and most of the locals really enjoy it. Without this season the country wouldn’t be anywhere near as beautiful as it is. With the rain comes all of the lush beautiful landscapes that Costa Rica is known for, this is also why some people refer to it as the green season. Even though the rainy season may still be slightly present around thanksgiving, and it is possible we can get some rain during this time, it is arguably the best time to visit especially if you are looking for amazing views. Costa Rica thanksgiving will most likely be the most beautiful place you have spent thanksgiving due to all the nature being incredibly lush and green.

The Laid Back Way of Life

Costa Rica is well known for its laid back way of life and this is one of the things we are most thankful for. There is no need to stress about the little things in life here and you can always take the time to enjoy the simple pleasures, something we like to refer to as ‘Pura Vida’. From the fresh food to the friendly people, Costa Rica is the perfect place to relax and forget about your troubles. Sure just like anywhere else in the world life isn’t necessarily perfect just because you are surrounded by sunshine and palm trees, but the way of life here encourages a positive outlook and positive state of mind. Whether you are living here or just traveling it seems so much easier to connect with the things that really matter. Costa Rica has a way of showing you what’s truly important and will open your eyes to just how much beauty there is in the world. This is an experience and even more than that, it is a way of life.

The Natural Beauty

Costa Rica is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. From the pristine beaches to the lush rainforests, there is always something to admire. We are grateful to be able to wake up each day and experience the natural beauty of this country. Here in Costa Rica you have the opportunity to spend your days on a vast white sand beach, surrounded by nothing besides the turquoise water and sounds of crashing waves, or in the amazingly dense rainforest full of free and unique wildlife. Both of these things have so much to offer, and even though they are completely different ecosystems, you can go from one to the other within hours.

Between the miles of beautiful beaches along the coast, and the vast amount of rainforest, smoking volcanos, dramatic waterfalls and rolling mountains you will never be out of options for places to explore. As you know with different landscapes comes a variety of ecosystems, home to all kinds of wildlife. Whether it is monkeys swinging through the trees, iguanas sunning themselves on the beach, or dolphins swimming in the ocean, there is always something new to see. We are so grateful to be able to see and live alongside all of this wildlife in their natural habitat. If you are new to exploring these parts of the world it can sound overwhelming and even scary, but the people of Costa Rica understand that not everyone grows up experiencing these amazing parts of our planet. So thankfully there are tours for absolutely everything here run by local, knowledgeable people. They can not only take you to all of these places, but teach you about all of the wildlife, safe ways to encounter them, and make your experience exploring nothing but incredibly fun.

The Delicious Food
