Tropical Homes of Costa Rica

Welcome to the second edition of the Tropical Homes of Costa Rica local news update!  Thank you for your continued patronage and support.  Let’s take a look at what’s been going on in our quiet beach community lately:

  • Jean-Luc Taulere from Mar y Sol has launched his new bar and restaurant on Flamingo Beach, the Coco Loco!  Stop by for fast, delicious lunch options at the South end of Flamingo, with tables available ON the beach.  Call 2654-4151 for more information about both of these restaurants.
  • Hotel Bahia del Sol is now offering Merengua, Salsa, and Cumbia dance lessons at its Palapa Bar.  Join event coordinator Roxanna Arietta for some sea-side Latin Dancing every Tuesday at 6 pm, only $5 a person.  For more information, visit the Bahia del Sol website or call (506)2654-4671.
  • Costa Rican officials have closed both the Rincon de la Vieja and Turrialba volcano craters due to increased volcanic activity.  This is a preventative safety measure by the MINAET, as both volcanoes has minor eruptions last week.
  • Congratulations to both Playa Flamingo and Playa Potrero for earning one of Costa Rica’s highest honors, the blue flag award.  Both beaches received a score of between 90-100% on the Ecological Blue Flag Program created and administered by multiple cooperating Costa Rican agencies.

That’s it for this time, stay tuned for more of what’s going on in your world today.
