Tropical Homes of Costa Rica

Good morn, afternoon, or evening, depending upon where you find yourself reading the latest installment of Tropical Homes‘ local news update.  Personally, this moment of today finds me in the US of A, patiently waiting for my return to Costa Rica in the morning.  While it was a whirlwind of a time here in the States, I am as excited as ever to return to Costa Rica and the gloriously peaceful community that awaits me.

Although I may not be physically there, I still have my sources around town, and am here to share with you all what is going on in our beach community while I am absent!  Lots of things are going on, making this one excitingly atypical rainy season.

  • The Happy Snapper Restaurant and Bar in Brasilito is again keeping up its entertainment reputation by hosting some live music on Saturday night!  Paula will be singing Latin American songs and other American favorites starting at 8pm, and the microphone will be open if anyone else cares to shares a song or dance with the rest of the community.  It is sure to be entertaining, and the Macarena is almost guarenteed to be played.
  • Restaurant Mar y Sol in Flamingo has amazing weekend specials tonight that should definitely be taken advantage of.  Stop by for free bocas from 5 to 6pm, and two for one happy hour from 4 to 6pm.  Food specials include a blackened angus rib eye, seabass over fettucine alfredo, and fresh grouper served with a glass of your choice of house wine.  Mar y Sol will be closed on Sunday, July the 15th.
  • A new store is opening its doors in the Casa del Sol commercial center in Poterero centro on Monday the 16th!  The exact details remain a mystery, but I can tell you that it is a one of a kind store in the area that has something for everyone.  Feel free to stop by on Monday and see how the face of our community continues to change!

It is quite an exciting time in Costa Rica for a season that is normally calm and quite.  Let’s continue to ride the wave and share all of the good vibrations that are flowing throughout our beach community.  As always, it is a pleasure, and see you again next week!
