Greetings to one and all. and what a glorious existence it is to be in Costa Rica! If you’re reading this, you are tuning in for the latest version of Tropical Homes‘ local news update. With the full on advent of the green season, the rain is incredible, the roads are deteriorating, and there aren’t very many visitors to be seen. If you’re out there and thinking about visiting during the rain, I highly recommend it, as this season in Costa Rica is like nothing you’ve experienced before. The jungle is thriving, flowers are blooming, and personally I see at least 4 hummingbirds a day, so the wildlife is excited as well.
For those of us that are still here are still looking for something to do besides hide inside from the rain, have no fear. Lots of entertainment options are available to the person willing to brave the monsoons!
- Flamingo Beach Resort is hosting its Costa Rica culture/food night on Friday in their Arenas Restaurant. The night includes a tipico Costa Rican dinner, a free glass of wine, and at 7:30 a dance group will be performing a typical Costa Rican dance for your pleasure. The night begins at 6 pm and the cost is only $19, for more information check out the Flamingo Beach Resort.
- Playa Flamingo has had some intermittent water issues this past week, with a crucial part broken and difficulty finding the replacement. As always, during this time we were asked to conserve water, but even now please try to conserve water now so that we can prevent any water restrictions in the next season.
- This Saturday, August the 25th is the monthly flea market/garage sale at The Village in Brasilito. The garage sale is always held on the last Saturday of the month, and is from 9 am to 1pm. For more information, contact Ros at info@conchalvillage.com.
