Tropical Homes of Costa Rica

The latest local news update from Tropical Homes brings strange and unusual tidings indeed.  Rain, and lots of it, in the month of April!  The amount of water falling from the sky lately is making the area lush and green again.  But keep your bug spray handy, because the rains have definitely woken up the insects.  The rain bears bad tidings for the Potrero dirt road, so be sure to take it extra slowly to keep down dust and avoid large bills at the mechanic.  Cross your fingers and hope that the road receives some attention soon, for the benefit of the entire community.

What’s going on around here?  Well let’s see:

  • The Presidential Suites condos in Playa Flamingo recently had water shortages for their tenants, and attracted the attention of the local AYA water service.  Both tanks had been emptied, but now the water has been restored, and AYA is monitoring the situation closely.  This is a great reminder to always conserve water here in Costa Rica, take short showers, water plants at night, and limit dishwasher/laundry use.
  • The La Paz Community School continues to offer open gym for adult basketball on Wednesdays at 6pm.  A healthy core of locals come regularly and make a fun, competitive atmosphere.  Visit the La Paz school at their website, http://www.lapazschool.org/.
  • The restaurant El Coco Loco in Playa Flamingo continues to celebrate its opening and offers food and drink specials, and dining right on the beach.  Come take advantage of the food and location, a unique beach side restaurant in Costa Rica.
  • Let’s all send love and good wishes in memory of Erma Bombeck and her recent passing.  If you knew the woman, she always had a smile on her face and a purple hat on her head.  All of the best to her family and loves ones.

That’s it for now, thanks for stopping by, and we look forward to doing it again in the future!
