Tropical Homes of Costa Rica

After a whirlwind trip to the motherland of the US and A, it is great to return home to Costa Rica, and again be here to share with you all Tropical Homes‘ latest local news update.  The rainy season continues to not live up to its name, and we are faced with similar conditions of dryness as in the past few rainy seasons.  The newly grated roads around Surfside and Potrero are directly related to the dust storms frequenting the roads throughout town.  Let’s be sure to slow it down a bit, for one to enjoy every moment of this amazing place we happen to be at in the moment, and to let the roads stay nicer longer.

Yesterday was Guanacaste Day, celebrating the annexation of Guanacaste into Costa Rica.  The stores were closed, and the celebrations we fun.  But let’s look and see what’s going on down the road to tomorrow:

  • El Loco Fruitariano, located in the commercial center on the main Surfside road, is serving breakfast all day long, as well as amazing smoothies to satisfy any craving.  Stop by for some strawberry pancakes with Greven’s specialty syrup any time, always at a great price.
  • The live music at Marie’s Restaurant in Flamingo on Friday night is the talk around town.  The feature band Yerbabuena plays an incredible blend of music from both English and Latin origins, and they begin playing at 7 pm.  Reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling 2654-4136.
  • A huge congratulations goes out to the entire town of Playa Potrero for their efforts keeping our beaches clean and our town in pristine condition, earning us the honor of the Blue Flag from the government of Costa Rica.  The Blue Flag will be raised on the corner outside of the Coconut and Bahia del Sol at 8 am, followed by refreshments in the rancho at Bahia del Sol afterwards.  Keep up the great work people, and let’s keep our beaches clean!

That’s all for now folks, thanks for checking in, and perhaps we may pass each other on the roads.  But we probably won’t be able to see each other through the dust cloud.  Ciao for now!
